Blooms and blankets...........x

Bluebells and Lilacs are flowering in our garden...so pretty and magical. I feel like one minute I look out and there is nothing growing....the next.......

The blooms are out and greenery is a growin! We got the blue bunting out this morning too......Jessie cat favours a bit of bunting, and will only lounge in the flower boarders, squashing precious plants in a lazy lounging kind of way, or on the garden table under the bunting...think she thinks she's royal or something....

She will be demanding cream every day, and a floppy sun hat before long.................

Mr.Q has fixed my camera...horray yippee woo hoooooooo.....so I could take some pictures of the Bumblebee's finished blankets and pillows for their Lilydolls, think I prefer the red gingham binding, but eeeeek - you know what it's like when you are in the middle of a project and realise you don't have enough to finish....a quick pit stop to the local fabric shop only unearthed plain coloured, less thick binding....and with biggest bumblebee always preferring bright colours, I opted for the purple.....

Lets hope they enjoy them! I'm thinking I would rather fancy a blanket adult size like these....would you too????? xxx

Happy loves.........................x

I have some happy new loves this week. Where to start? I think pictures are best today.......although still fluffy, I was just so excited to show you my new loves, that I could'nt possibly wait for Mr.Q to sort out the other camera for us........xxxx.........Shwit shwoooo my new Bodum kettle.......

Sun shiney days......

One finished window.......paint is farrow and Ball ..Vert de terre...

And a few presents from the folks......sparkly brooch was picked up by my Dad this weekend at an Antiques fair in Sherborne Dorset.......the scales...THE SCALES were found in a little Antiques shop in Sussex, they were used in an old shop, can you picture it...a lady head to toe in florals, with apron and her hair tied in a scarf, measuring out sugar and flour, gossiping about the local fete or other such things......
the best thing is, our surname is one them........A new family heirloom......

Today I stumbled upon the most fantastic picture of my beloved Helen..........teacups....why didn't I think of that?!

Happy sun shiney day to you all! xxxx

Colourful sparkly eggs......................x

There have been many activities going on here this week. I am lucky that my girls enjoy a good crafting session, I am not one for containing the mess, or asking them to be careful with the glue.....

Messy play is messy play isn't it??????? Free -range, self expression, no crafting boundaries........I'm a helicopter parent......you see when I was little, we grew up in a higgledy piggledy cottage, I think there was always glitter glue smeared on the kitchen table,  and I was allowed to paint my own room, I painted a jungle scene on the wall with tigers, parrots and stuffs! I know this is a bit out there, but that was my childhood....and I loved it..and I was very lucky and blessed I know.

B.T.W sorry about the fluffy pictures today, they have all been taken on my phone....( can't work out how to clear the memory of the normal camera......awww Mr.Q where are youuuu?!! )

P.S YES!!!!! That is the new painted window...all finished! Will post properly on this very very soon!!!

Easter making and doing........dying the eggs was really very easy, and soooo satisfying!! here's what you do...

You need :

Hot water
Selection of food dyes.
White vinegar.
Eggs that have been blown.

Use one cup of hot water for each egg. Add one tablespoon of vinegar, and a teaspoon of dye. Mix and add your egg, the longer it is in the water, the brighter the colour will be!

See! Super easy peasy!

We tried to convince Mr.Q that the chickens had laid colourful sparkly eggs, but he wasn't fooled! We'll get him next time.....

A little sneak peak of a sewing project I have been doing this week for littlest Bumblebee...now for big bumblebee's........all will be revealed I promise!..........................ooooh what could it be???!

Happy Friday to you all.......have a super day lovelies, what ever you are doing. Oooh can we all send some love, hugs and good luck to all the runners for the Marathon this weekend? My friend Caroline is running for her first ever time...wishing you luck lovely....will keep an eye out for you!

P.S How many Ooooh in this post today?!!! ooooh.....

Beaches and big glasses.......x

I quite like a little breeze on the seashore, you see I am not a sun worshipper, and the bumblebee's get too irritable when hot and bothered...... ( or perhaps that's just me? )

Late afternoon in Lyme,  for fish and chips, is the perfect time for beaching I fancy. All littlest bumble wants is a ice-cream..........

While big bumblebee races for the water to twirl and splash and sing ( she is in her own little world, and I LOVE that....perhaps we need to move to Neverland and never grow up )

Crikey I heart big sunglasses sooo sooo much. They hide tired eyes brilliantly. And also, also, sadly I am getting older......this came as a huge shock to me. But I have a few wrinkles round my eyes, I like to think it's because I am smiley and happy......but I think it's just age...humpf........( I have a BIG birthday this year..........lets not talk about it any further eh? ).....back to big sunglasses. This pair??? £1. Yes that's right...£1 in Primark. Don't mind if I do............................................

Day 2............x

Day two of the holidays and we are super relaxed, and happy. happy, happy, happy. I may have forgotten to go to a meeting last night, worn my P.J's until late morning, walked around the village supervising littlest bumblebee on her bike without having brushed my hair.......but that's what makes it all the more wonderful!

( picture above taken from the Stitch and Bitch / Knit and Natter we had.) ....tea in teacups and my fav choccie biccies, a bit of crochet, and bit of stitching, slurpings of teas and a few giggles. Brilliant!!! If you have like minded friends then I urge you to set up a little get together, to get new ideas, but also just to know you have some time put aside to actually DO some making.

Happy Tuesday all, have a lovely day xxxx

Hiding....................x

What a lot of lovely sunshine we have had these past few days, gosh we've been ever so lucky have we not? And would you believe it, when I woke up this morning ...it was another sunny day! Sunny Saturday.
So I popped on my trainers (leaving a snoring Mr.Q in bed, and the bumblebee's on their day bed watching nanny McPhee....the pretty farm one....I want that farm....I love it so ) and went for a nice little quiet run around the neighbouring village, I think it's only about 1.5 miles but that was enough today as it had been a WHOLE WHOPPING week since my last run due to germies.......

So feeling refreshed I am ready for the weekend. What will it entail????? Ummmm you guessed it...that window still needs attention ( although I have had enough now, and keep dodging the work leaving Q to it - finding extremely important seeds to sow, and cakes to be baked, there are always lots of other bits that need doing! ) and perhaps we can squeeze in a car boots sale, a glass of wine, a sit in the sunny garden?

What will you all be doing??? Look, my tree has come into blossom, she a beauty!!!

More blossoms....can we have too many? The bee's particularly love this blossom bush, I have no idea what it is...but has a constant buzzing surrounding it.......

The Grandparents are re-decorating at the moment, and I have had my eye on the fairy sparkle picture for some time for the bumblebee's.........they were concerned as it is quite faded compared to when they first had it a few years ago ( think found on a family holiday when Mr.Q was just a boy in Devon! )

I find it magical, there are soooo many little imps and fairys hiding....it has a slight sparkly sheen to it, which adds to its charm......
I adore it, as do the girls.......a perfect hand me down.
Ooooh one more ting before I go ( I am stalling, as I write Q is is cracking on with that blasted window, I am hiding and blogging.....avoiding....... I am good at that.......)............A little sing song for the sunshiney weekend I think...

A catch up and snuggle socks...x

I think your wishes for Somerset sunshine were finally heard. Thank you ever so much.
The dining room window is a beast, she's high maintenance and demands much attention ( I am sure there is a joke in here that Mr.Q would find amusing.....)
We are still battling on painting her now that the sun is here, and I think we are winning....

What a slog though!!! Don't worry Mr.Q has a special thing wot scrapes off such paints and stuffs from the glass...hummmm hope it works!
This is a bit of a catch up post of sorts, I feel that this week I have abandoned my lovely blog, which I find so much joy in writing and making. Busy, busy, busy....you all know the feeling.....
But can we just touch on Mother's day? This was the one day we left the windows to it - and gorged chocolate croissants for breakfast, and on lovely roast chicken and chocolate roulade. I danced with the bumblebee's in the lounge to Olly Murs and Katy Perry, and enjoyed re-reading homemade cards........

I hope all you Mummies had a lovely day....what did you get up too? I have my mummy coming down to visit in a few weeks, so we will have a jolly time together then too, you know really, she will just want to spend time with the bumblebee's eat cakes and drink tea.......this is one inherited gene I enjoy!!

Right catch up No.2.....my knit and natter stitch and bitch was great! Pictures will follow soon, but I made this lovely patchwork design all in a morning...and whilst having a good old gossip too!!!

I was going to make a blanket, BUT I realised ( once I had seen my friends larger shapes....size does matter ladies...) that it would take me forever to do....then I thought of a dolly blanket for the bumblebee's dolly wolly's, but actually, I am going to stitch it onto this old Ikea cushion......

Oh........look at these dinky little shoes. Yup little bumblebee is off school....again. She has the horrid coughing fits and high temperatures.....again. Sweet little thing is such a trooper, all she wanted was a snuggle on the sofa, her ducky and her snuggle socks.......

And why ever not?! I love being needed. Does make me broody you know...........Eeeeeeeeeeeeek!!!!!!!
