Here and now.......x

Are my blog posts becoming too sporadic? I really don't mean for them to, I mean I had the little blip with the camera battery thingy last week ( don't ask, that thing has a wicked spiteful criminal mind....I swear it plots against me.).......I hope I'm back on track. I.AM.BACK.ON.TRACK..........cross my heart.

To be honest with you I'm feeling a bit weird. The big bumblebee has gone off for a school residential, first one ever, EVER....and I feel lost without my little pal to chat with. But that's nothing compared to what little bumblebee is feeling. She's really feeling it. I understand what great friends those two are. Really and truly.

So anyway lets push that to back back of my mind...........and focus on some great material I've had stashed away for....errr...years. I got round to making little bumblebee a music bag all of her own. It's so easy for the young ones in a family get given hand me downs ( WHICH B.T.W I have no problem with at all ) but now and then, they want things of their own.

She was delighted, and took to stuffing it with moshi monsters and littlest pet shop stuffs. ( we're not quite at the music lesson stage yet, soon, but not yet .)

Job done, the girl was happy.

Ok........can't stop thinking about....
1. If she's happy.
2. Has she even got there safely ( of course the school would have notified us had anything gone wrong...move on ).
3.Did that coach journey make her feel sick? There's nothing worse than travel sickness is there? Urghhh then that would put a dampener on the arrival....
4. Q still hasn't done the washing up from dinner, how long do I leave it before I nag/ask him to get on with it.
5.Did I pack enough clothes, I'm not sure I did ( you see the teachers made it clear the children HAD to carry their own luggage, so parents must be sensible.....arghhh should have put an extra pair of skinnies in..but seriously the size of some of those suitcases - they were bigger than the kids!  At least I try to hide my "helicopter parenting" !!)
6. What if she has a nightmare and forgets where she is, or just gets scared, she will NEED me.
7.Must exercise, I ate about 5 cheese straws today 5 I said 5.........feeling really guilty, and bloated. Bloomin cheese.
8. What if she gets lost? Falls down a hole, or well, or looses her way in the woods ( not sure there are woods there )...........and I never see her again?

And breath.......she's fine, happy, having fun, not even thinking about you.......go cuddle that little tinker sleeping upstairs...ok I will.

  1. How old is big Bumble Bee? Little Son is 8 and I still hate it when he goes off for a day trip without me even if he's with my husband so I know how you must be feeling! Is she away long? Hopefully the time will pass quickly. Lily. xxx

  3. Oh you poor thing, I know how you feel. Our son is at uni and the worrying doesn't get any easier when they're older. I worry when he doesn't FaceTime/ Skype us for a couple of days. I try my hardest not to keep texting him in case he gets fed up with me! I'm sure she's having a great time. I made cheese straws today and ate 6! Hope that makes you feel a bit better :-) x

  8. Awww Nattie I know how you feel. Although people say having kids are tough the tend to be on about when they are babies and mess and expense etc. None of those have been concerns to me because having children has been the best thing ever for me, but have to say the anxiety levels and always feeling you have to let them go all the time is the hardest part. Knowing they have to find their place in life and not to over mother them in the process a hard thing to do in reality. My eldest is going on a school trip that I am stressing about already and that is just a trip. I think they have a few days away thing in year 4 at our school. So that will be next year. Gawd pass the valium or wine now please! lol.

I bet she is having a hoot and will be full of fun tales to tell you all on her return. Loving the cute bag you made for your youngest. Too cute! No wonder she is chuffed to bits!

  11. Oh poor you nattie!! I'm the same with joshy although he's not slept over anywhere yet!!! I love the bags are you allowed to leave them there? I made joshy and Sam a bag each for Lego and bits and bobs that float around the house, I thought they looked fab in the kitchen next to my bag and vintage aprons but josh wanted it in his room then we had a sort of mummy and 6 year old set too, with josh saying I made it for him he should be allowed it in his room and me saying no and then sulking, in the end I let him have it in his room and I felt like such a bad mummy trying to keep it to make the kitchen look nice,!!! Your bags do look lovely next to the piano!!! Fliss xxxx
